Culture: The Six Dimensions Of A Leader

Improved Essays
Culture is a huge part of the organization that anyone works for either if it’s a Global corporation or just the different gender or race that you work with. It can be challenging yet rewarding to have different culture within the organization and outside of it but it leads to great leadership with clients and how you work with everyone in the company. Not everyone is alike and we all have different values, but when working with different cultures you need to study it and respect it especially in the organization you work for if it could be a global organization. With the six dimensions that we will get more into detail with have views on how we work as a society and how we defer from others in different societies. I think with this you realize …show more content…
The first one would be power distance, which I feel that a lot of leaders play in this roll and how they handle the work load between their employees. You know as a leader you have the power to push others that you know who can do the job, but then you have to look at those that are not preforming the same work load as one individual. With this the Leader needs to delegate its work load out to all the team fairly and making sure you are being fair on equality. The second one would be Masculinity vs Femininity which is very important on how you lead. As a leader you must presents yourself and know are you strong enough to be a leader. States by Geert-Hofstede “Society at large is more competitive.” And no matter what your gender is there will always be competition within the work force to prove that each gender can be a better leader, but who can be the best. The third one would be Long term orientation, which would be another that a leader would need to work hard to completed goals and task, but also a relationship. Stated by Geert Hofstead “Every society has to maintain some links with its own past while dealing with the challenges of the present and the future. Societies prioritize these two existential goals differently.” Based on what mistakes and issues we have had in the past we know that it’s a challenged to …show more content…
Diversity is a huge roll that is played in the organization, but a lot of leaders do not acknowledge this in the corporation which having a diverse culture brings better results for the business. Stated by Winnard, “The word "diversity" means "varied and different". Diversity, therefore, is about more than equality. It is about creating a culture that values differences for the benefit of society, individuals and organizations.” I think that is very true as society most of us learn from everyone culture and benefit from it. I value everyone’s culture and try to learn from others as I incorporate it with my leadership. I know that we all value diversity in some way and especially for example would be different food cultures that we inherit. The bad part to this is that it can also lead to discrimination and how you treat others and a how others treating a person within the organization. Working for a global organization you always assume that every country works the same as our culture here in the United States and some times that is true but most of the time it is not. Stated in a article by Brady and Ratinoff “Ultimately, attracting and retaining diverse talent matters to all of us “Making Diversity Work” is for business leaders who see these changes on the horizon and looking for ways to get ahead.” We all want to get ahead but as a leader we

However, the analysis of artifacts is possible, but difficult to decipher in an accurate manner because the individual does not have all of the relevant information for the…
