The fashion from the 1960s changed fashion forever. The word “mod” stands for modern, so the fashion was the new thing. During this time was the beginning of high end fashion. “Mod” Fashion was one of the most popular trends in the 1960’s all due to its bold styles, the designers who made the clothes, and the models who wore the items. The main model for this specific fashion period was Twiggy, also known as, Lesley Hornby (“1960s Fashion: Mini-Skirts, Twiggy, and Mods”). In the article “1960s Fashion: Mini-SKirts, Twiggy, and Mods”, it says, that Twiggy’s short bob cut and cartoonish makeup really brought the whole mod look together. Twiggy was great and what she did, and really made mod fashion stand out. Another mod fashion model was Patti Boyd, although she didn’t start wearing mod clothing until after she was married to George Harrison. (“Fashion Icon: Patti Boyd”). Patti didn’t wear jewelry, it wasn’t till the hippy time that jewelry was fashionable, so Patti never wore any. (“Fashion Icon: Patti Boyd”). Patti Boyd had a great sense in fashion and many followed her. Both of these models were able to show off mod fashion and make it popular. In conclusion, “mod” fashion was a main part in fashion history due to its unique styles, the creators of the clothes, and the people who displayed the clothes. The unique styles helped “mod” fashion stand out. The creators of these styles became popularized because of these clothes.
