The first idea of a dog was way back in time. About 35,000 thousand years ago arctic wolves were getting "closer" to prehistoric humans. Back in history, dogs were workers or even slaves, but now most dogs are usually our average lovable pets. Dogs have been our buddies, companions, and family for years. There is a reason that wolves became dogs and, how we know dogs today as pets.

Dogs have been our companions for years. The idea of a dog started out as a wolf 35,000 years ago. During the Ice Age there were many dangers like giant predators and illnesses. Some wolves would sneak into the human camps and eat any scraps or food. As time went by, humans started to have a affection towards wolves. At first, dogs were workers and did a lot of jobs human can't do. In the past only wealthy people could have had dogs as pets. The other dogs did hard working jobs just for food to survive. These jobs included protecting farm animals from predators, clearing kitchens of rats, and some would warn people that a fire wagon was coming. Back then we did not care for dogs to be friends but only for hard labor. In the 1800, the idea of having a dog started to change. Dogs were easier to buy and people wanted to have dogs as pets. In the 1900, TV shows and other ideas made having a dog popular. Dogs now help us like taking care of a child or in senior center to make the elderly happy. That is how dogs have changed.

From a giant gray arctic wolf to a small brown yapping little Chihuahua, dogs have changed for the better for humans. Dogs now still help us work or they can now be a part of our family. The evolution of dogs is amazing and challenging. Dog didn't even exist at first, but wolves became our friends and we both changed.
