Cell phone usage has become so much more than calling a friend or family member from anywhere in the world; they have become a main source for entertainment. With the explosion of social media and technology continuously advancing, cell phones are now the gateway to a whole new form of communication and enjoyment. Not only used for a simple call, these devices wake people up, remind them when to take medicine, and keep them from boredom with a game. Humans have become completely dependable on cell phones, and that is not something to applaud. Nowadays, it’s hard to find someone not on his or her cell phone. Through instant messaging, people have begun to use texting lingo, abbreviations such as “LOL” and “BRB”, to shorten their sentences and respond quicker to messages. In an impatient society, texting lingo doesn’t seem to be a major problem because the speed at which messages are sent is astonishingly fast. However, people are starting to use this form of communication for more than just their own conversations. Students are using this new language in their school work, and adults are incorporating it in their professional settings. Language is not something that people can learn once, and they carry it with them for the rest of their lives; it requires constant management and practice. So, in order to break this bad habit, people could attend writing seminars or classes to help them improve their writing skills. That would re-establish a person’s knowledge about the use of proper spelling and grammar and help him or her later on in life. Texting lingo puts limitations on a person’s ability to write. Once the capability of writing properly is demolished, the deconstruction of language itself has
