The importance of this study is to figure out how, if, and do we evolve from monkeys. How it could affect society is if apes are our ancestors then that might mean that some random ape in the world could be our ancestor and we don’t even know it, and if we do evolve from humans how are their monkeys still,and they're not humans. Since apes are our ancestor then what are the monkeys to apes, how did they get here because apes aren’t the same as but they look like monkeys.
