EVM's are known to help people with disabilities from audio for the hearing impaired and video for people with reduced vision as well as hand held for those who have trouble standing. It's said that 33.7 million people have disabilities and 20% are less likly to vote because there is minium accessibility for them.
EVM's provide ballots in various languages opposed to paper ballots which only have four or five of the most used languages mostly because the cost to print the paper ballots in many different languages is costly to the state. There are many pros and cons to using EVM's, as opposed to paper ballots. They may work well for people with disabilities as stated which gives them the opportunity to vote without worrying about their physical state, but if you don't know about computers these machines may become complicated for many.
Most states that have used the EVM's have reverted back to paper ballots because of the cost to keep them up and running well, restoring hardware and software. Also the making sure these EVM's are difficult for hakers to get into. So instead the many states that have replaced them are sure that the paper ballots are safe and
