Evips Reflection

Decent Essays
This morning, I logged on to check some of my emails, and Sherri instantly sent me a message regarding my EVIP’s log in. I received my login last week. You are aware that I have been working with Diane Tyrrell with receiving provider information forms to enter the necessary data elements into EVIPs. Yesterday, Diane was in an EVIPS training with the new contract managers; therefore, I was not able receive any new provider information forms from her until after the meeting. I answered emails and made a few calls to the transportation vendors regarding the X Games event. You are aware how I manage my time, and I provide you with updates. I am not sure where she is going with this; however, I am going through enough with my health issues that

During the first half of the semester for ENC 1102, I believe that my writing skills have improved from ENC 1101; some of which are getting to page length, correctly citing a source, and incorporating how a quote is related to my argument. I still have some errors within my writing that I have not quite figured out how to tackle. Some concepts that I have not gotten down to a tee must be coming up with a thesis statement, basic grammar errors, introducing quotations, and repetition. I have also learned how to distinguish the difference between a personal essay and an argumentative essay with first hand on the two types and how why my grade differed from essay one and two.…

Mark Emmert alongside a female Indiana Law Professor talked to a small group of students, teachers, coaches, and adults. The conversation started with a few basic questions. The first being, “How are rules made and what is the process?” Emmert went on to talk about self-governance and how the universities themselves make their own rules and make their own decision on finances. The NCAA however, is broken down into 3 divisions and a collection of university presidents with sub-committees that make decisions on tournaments and revenue.…

    Airborn Reflection

I would like to thank you for beautiful novel Airborn, for it has truly inspired me. Intrigued by the quick summary on the back of the book, I took it upon myself to read the book itself. I grew attached to the characters, and I found myself unable to put the book down at times. I loved how I could somehow relate to each character throughout the novel, whether they were small similarities or rather big ones. Each character stood out to me in a unique way that changed the way I think and inspired me to act as they do.…

    Wolters Reflection

I have mixed feelings on how to react to Wolters’ writing. Wolters takes what may seem like something that all reformational Christians should already know and reinforces this classical worldview in a useful way. The musings of Wolters have been the integral backbone of my entire educational experience over my years at Dordt. However, I have never been formally introduced to these concepts before starting college. This may be obvious to anyone who knows me, but up until a couple of years ago, I had never heard of the terms, “reformational,” “worldview,” “structure and direction,” or even “creation, fall, redemption.…

Over the course of studying E214 I have thought greatly about my own practice working as an HLTA in a mainstream primary school, where I mainly work with children that experience barriers to learning. These barriers are due to the children having special educational needs or due to having English as an additional language. I now question whether the children I work with are part of a system that has created othering and if through them being othered they included as fully as possible or are they still subject to exclusion through the barriers they experience when accessing the national curriculum or through their progress not being as high as expected by society. (online unit 17) The focus of education appears to be about the grades and progress…

Over this past spring semester, I have obtained a total of 75 hours of field experience in the CCC Childcare UPK 1 classroom. My overall impression of the experience is that it truly exposed me to what it’s like caring for and teaching young children, and all the responsibility that accompanies it. I truly enjoyed my time in the UPK 1 classroom and after being there six hours a week, sometimes more, I feel a genuine connection to these children and the classroom. This entire experience taught me a lot, not only about early childhood education, but about myself and what I’m capable of. Working with four and five year olds opened my eyes to a way thinking that I had lost.…

Before S.O.L the only club I had been a part of was Heath Occupation Students of America (H.O.S.A) a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO). Becoming Vice President of S.O.L was something novel to me, I had no experience being a co-leader of any club but I wanted to try something new and was willing to give it my all. I knew it was going to be a challenge because S.O.L was only being established at our school and it was the club’s first year.…

The book “The Big Time” was written by Tim Green centered towards a younger audience and written as a sports fiction book. As he examines the formation and he sees how the linemen are set, he can predict the play, and is almost always perfect in his predictions.…

Going into this class my thoughts of what an ELL was before reading Coehlo (2004) and Li, Myles, & Robinson (2012) was someone who had immigrated to Canada and English was not their first language. It is probably a common assumption among the majority of the population even though it is a wrong one. I also only viewed an ELL as someone who is initially learning the language, but as talked about in the lesson, the learning never really stops. I never would have viewed an individual who is a Canadian citizen, and has been in Canada for quite a while as an ELL.…

A reflection of this eight weeks journey in Foundations of Autonomous Practice has showcased the different facets of what makes us a better and responsible clinicians- from identifying our core values to enabling our decision-making as a diagnostician in the realm of disablement. As we are about to disembark from our trip we are faced with another challenge; we are to traverse the great divide between research and our patients. Fortunately, a bridge has been built to enable us to cross that gap between research and the patients; aptly we shall refer to this bridge as evidence-based practice (EBP). This bridge is one of the a landmarks in our road map to autonomous practice. To fully understand and incorporate EBP we need to see the processes involved.…

Have you ever wanted something so bad that there became a burning passion growing inside you to gain that one thing? Olaudah Equiano is an excellent example of this freedom was his motivation, and he was not going to break until he tasted that sweet taste of accomplishing his goal. Equiano sets an excellent example of this in his life, the mentality and physical toughness to bend but not completely break. That is a quality that we can use in our own personal walk though this life. This autobiography is much more than just a book about slavery and freedom to me, as I began to read it, the book made me begin think about my own life.…

On National Coming Out Day the rainbow center held an event for students to listen to poetry and other students’ personal experiences with coming out. Walking in I was a little nervous and was not sure what to expect. No one in my family or my close friends have ever dealt with coming out, so this was new to me. Although I was not very knowledgeable about what it is like to come out, I was still interested in learning about what other people have gone through.…
