His faith is presented in many ways but most importantly as his wife, aptly named Faith. Faith is a very pretty woman who wears a pink ribbon in her hair and the pink ribbon can symbolize her innocence in the world. Faith also symbolizes Goodman Browns faith, He thinks she is good, like the rest of the world. He thinks his family used to be good people, but in reality it turns out they weren’t. They were led into the woods just as he was. The world isn’t what he thought it was, just like Faith. When Faith tells Goodman the she has had a dream and that she doesn’t want him to go into the woods, its almost like she’s hinting at something, and she knows what is about to happen. As the story progress Goodman Brown is slowly losing his faith, and when Goodman Brown is hiding in the woods, he hears his wife Faith and then sees her pink ribbon fall from the sky, and this is when Goodman Brown loses it. He learns the most important lesson of all after that night, he learns that the towns people where just like him, led into the woods by evil. He learns that even though someone may appear to be innocent or a person of faith in God, there is always a capacity for evil inside him or her. And not only that, but the whole world is evil, “the whole earth one stain of guilt, one mighty blood
