God, the one and only being perfect in wisdom, power, all goodness and whom is worshipped as our creator and ultimate ruler of the universe. The most perfect being that can ever be conceived1. The same God that introduced evil, temptation and destruction to man. Could one being be the cause of all madness and mayhem? How is one meant to conceive that god only inflicts evil if he is intending to “bring good out of evil”2. With the influence and advancement of modern day technology and science, it is becoming more practical and reasonable to assume that God did not create humans and in fact the humans created God. These arguments are well indeed evident in David Hume’s The Problem of Evil as well as Russell’s teapot. Although there may be many arguments such as William Paley’s Teleological argument that may supply evidence to contradict David …show more content…
Russell’s theory states that the existence of a teapot orbiting the sun shares the same amount of evidence and likelihood as the existence of God. Atheist philosopher Bertrand Russell, 1872-1970, proposed the concept that if a theory of a teapot orbiting the sun was taught, passed on and accepted, it was essentially saying that God must then necessarily exist. This introduces the idea that perhaps God is nothing but an inherited idea. Both objects are supernatural entities, both equally intangible, invisible, however, both existent. Let’s propose that the legacy of God suddenly stopped; no more churches, books, stories, bibles, articles, lectures or information about God’s existence. Throughout the duration of future generations, nor God or God’s legacy will exist. These future generations will eventually turn to the scientific method that continues to supply new evidence and research that supports the evolution theory. The evolution method is a very accurate theory that helps disproves the Teleological argument and the existence of
