Skin to skin has been studied and researched. The evidence based research suggests that skin to skin increases thermoregulation, improves oxygenation stabilization. It also enhances respiratory stabilization. Due to these findings, skin to skin has been proven as a safe and encouraged practice (Bricker, Johnson, & Storm, 2016). What has been your personal experience with infant’s going skin to skin after delivery?
