EBP helps in making effective health care and management decisions to care individual patients using the best available scientific evidence. The use of EBP in managing obesity includes analysis of quantitative scientific data for evidence, qualitative analysis of in-depth individual case studies for judicious use of evidence, and instrumenting right policy guidelines based upon those analysis and evidences (Fleming & Parker, 2012). I completely agree upon using EBP for childhood obesity management as it considers using expertise of health practitioner as well as values and preferences of patient. For instance, the obesity in primary school children is a quantitative problem, and using PICSO (Population/disease, Intervention, Comparator, Outcome, Setting) we would be able to define and be more specific to the real question. Secondly, I would work out on identifying the evidence that relates to the obesity problem in children, by taking cue from past primary researches using academic/professional journals, textbooks, reports, conference papers and presentations. Also, it would be beneficial to study about the effectiveness of the previous intervention, possibility of using similar strategy for other group of people and the difficulties in applying the intervention
