Evidence-based nursing research is the current trend in this field. In the next 10 years, I believe that nursing practice would still be based on the best research available, but higher caliber and more innovative. The pressure to achieve a cost-effective health care system is driven by research. In order to achieve an affordable high quality care and high-end patient safety, multidisciplinary team approach is necessary. According to Garson and Levin (2001), healthcare challenges in terms of raising costs and increasing uninsured population drive the evolution of the U.S. healthcare system.
