This process of interpretation is what aids an individual into understanding him/herself better due to tapping into the unconscious mind. For instance, in my high school psychology class, my teacher told my class that her ten-year-old daughter had a dream, which she described to be a big body of water that killed a lot of people. My teacher did not pay close attention to the description of her daughter’s dream because she did not think it would mean anything more than her imagination taking place throughout her dream; however, a few days later when my teacher was watching the news, her daughter came up to her and told her that the tsunami that hit East Asia was the disaster that she dreamt about. Due to her daughter’s dream that became a reality, my teacher now has her daughter write her dreams into a notebook with as much detail as she can remember. After hearing the shocking experience of my teacher’s daughter’s dream, it made me think about how many other individuals may have dreamt about situations that became a reality. This thought makes me want to know more about the topic through further
