Background:
Several community members in Anne Arundel County suffer through financial obstacles daily. Some people live paycheck by paycheck and others walk into eviction notices at their door. Having a vision to decrease homelessness, the Light House provides shelter to 30 males, 15 females, and 5 families. A promissory note simple states the amount and the recipient of the money that’s been offered for assistance. A community member can have more than one promissory note. The case workers at the Light house fill out a promissory note once they’ve reviewed all the documentation provided by a community member. If there is still a remaining balance after being offered assistance at the Light house, the case workers will hold the check until the community member provides documentation, proving that they have the remaining balance covered. The community member can submit proof of remaining balance, either by bringing it in physically to the case worker, or through faxing. Since there is a heavy amount of documents faxed to the Light house, the community member will be expected to call and inform their case worker to pull the proof of remaining
