Everyone Loves Raymond Research Paper

The shortened episode of Everyone Loves Raymond was very humorous and interesting. I would suspect that this type of question that Raymond’s daughter had, many parents are faced with at some time. A question as such is a very in-depth, thought provoking question for a young child. As much as I would love to know what they did say to her, which would make my essay easier I do have a few speculations on what might have been said.
“if we all go to heaven when we die, why did God put us here first?” To attempt to answer how I would respond to this question that the child asked, I need to point out a few details. The family appears to be Catholic, because they referred to their religious priest as “father”. They go to church, so they obviously

God wanted to share what heaven was like, and created humans from the image of him (Genesis 1:26). God created Adam, the caretaker of the Garden of Eden and the earth. Adam rose from the dirt of the ground. God believed that Adam should have someone like himself to share the beautiful earth with, so god made another human from the rib of Adam and called her woman (because she was created from man) (Genesis 2:23).
The earth was to be a permanent home for humans to live in eternal life to take care of the earth. God expected humans, to honor their creator, love the earth and be fruitful. God gave them the best gift of all, and that is freedom and choice. God did this by putting the tree of knowledge and the tree of good and evil in the Garden of Eden, with Adam and Eve. God put trust in Adam and Eve to populate the earth and obey him and not to eat from the tree of good and evil. However, that was short lived. Adam and eve ate from the tree of good and evil, and they then experienced sin, sorrow, and shame. Because of this, God was upset and told them that they were not to experience eternal life, and that they will now perish into the earth where they came from. So in short, eternal life was taken away from them and now eventually they will die (Romans

God, knew however that not all humans will act like Adam and eve, so he offered his followers life after death(heaven) and the promise of a new kingdom(new earth) (2 Peter 3:13; Isaiah 65:17) which would later come with the birth of Jesus. God made the 10 commandments that would help people know what is acceptable for life in heaven and a guideline to show what honoring god involves. As time went on, God could see that humans were disconnecting from him, so he knew something had to be done. This is when Jesus was born. Jesus job was to put man’s sin at rest; reconnect people with God, and give humankind needed a mediator. In short, Jesus was needed to prove that god existed and that people would reconnect with their creator. Jesus was real, and died for people’s sins, this man connected humans with the almighty Lord and because of this, and his followers will be offered eternal

For centuries now human civilization has been trying to figure out the terrible question, why were they put on earth? The Hebrew civilization in 2000 BCE, Jerusalem believed that they were put on earth to follow Yahweh’s law. The Hebrews were monotheism, meaning they believed in one god and this god was known as Yahweh. They also did not believe in life after death, so they did everything they could do to live a good life while they were still alive. The Torah is a guidebook that was given to Moses by Yahweh, so that he and his people would have instructions on how to live a good life.…

Adam and Eve were “free to eat from any tree in the garden; but [they] must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil” (Genesis 2:16-17). In the beginning, they were completely fine with obeying these laws. However, just as Gene was enticed to hurt Finny, Adam and Eve were drawn to eat from the Forbidden Fruit. They were tempted by the devil in serpent form. The serpent informs Adam and Eve that God did not want them to eat the fruit because “when [they] eat from it [their] eyes will be open, and [they] will be like God, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:5).…

Likewise, Jesus Christ come to earth to take our place of the cross. Because we were disconnected from God, Jesus Christ sacrificed himself to reconnect us to the father. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost” (1 Timothy 1:15 English Standard Version). In addition, this was all planned by God for Jesus to deliver salvation to the earth. God didn’t kill us for all the sinful acts that we committed but he justified us.…

Genesis says that God created the heavens and the earth, but in the next few verses the distinction is made between the sky and the heavens. This distinction is made when God creates a “vault” to separate the water from the water, which created the sky in between these two sets of water (Genesis 1). In the Native American story the touching of sky and water caused the creation of the First World (Navajo Creation Story). In the Christian tradition the end of God’s six days of creation signified the creation of Earth and of the Garden of Eden (Genesis 1). This is important because both of those locations were considered holy places and were signified as perfect.…

In the article, “We Are Not Created Equal in Every Way”, Joan Ryan writes about a little girl who loves to dance but seemingly is not a skinny petite child. The author, who has written substantially about the pressures on young female athletes tosses out a red herring, insisting that the concern is not about Fredrika’s weight but that a child of only eight years is being thrust into such a burdensome position. My interpretation of this article is that the author is trying to validate reasons for the child to not be accepted due to her weight. Therefore, I would like to point out some of the logical flaws in her reasoning.…

For this interview project we were assigned to interview a “successful ager” who is over 55 years old. When I first heard of the assignment I knew who I wanted to interview right from the start. The person who I chose to interview is my mother Carolyn McDonald. My mother was born in 1952 and is currently sixty four years old which puts her directly into this category. I thought that doing this assignment with my mother would not only be a unique experience that I would not have otherwise had, but also a larger insight into what has shaped and defined her over the years.…

One of the most arduous issues in the Catholic faith, seeming to perplex believers and non-believers alike, is in regards to Christ’s incarnation and death. Why did God have to become man? Why must Christ endure the severe suffering he did? God suffered because plainly forgiving would not have been just for us and Jesus died on the cross in order to show how far he is willing to suffer and become a model of love. It was a requirement that God was incarnated as a man and died in the way that He did.…

He was the representation of God’s might and mercy, whose coming was prophesized from all the way from the Old Testament. He came to maintain the Law, but change the way it affected people by preaching its true nature and freeing people from its restriction with his sacrifice. After his resurrection, his followers are obliged to spread his teaching to the world, by preaching and practicing Jesus’ compassionate interpretation of the Law. The Transfiguration and its implication was the proof of how thorough and magnificent the overarching plan of God’s establishment of its world and the salvation of his people, and how great his mercy was that he gave up his only Son to the clutches of the death and evil, to fulfill that…

Jesus’ identity and purpose has been a great source of discussion and investigation through the years. Although many people do not seem to believe in the importance and legacy of His life, there are many profs and facts that show the meaning of His days physically living in our world. Jesus came to show us the correct way to live and direct our actions towards others. For example, in Matthew 5:43-48, Jesus speaks about loving one’s enemies. He mentions how important it is to love, bless and pray for those who curse, hate, use and persecute us (Matthew 5:44).…
