Alice Walker’s story “ Everyday Use” was about a African American family who goes through many obstacles in life. Alice shows a mother who does everything she can to provide for her two daughters Dee and Maggie, she tries to show them how to respect their heritage and honor their background. The problems that were presented were- a mother who tried to teach her daughters about their heritage with a quilt that was passed down through their family and now it's one of her daughter turn to get the quilt.
