Ever since her mother carried her out of that burning house fire when she was young, she never left her mother’s side. Mama was always there for Maggie because she knew that Maggie would not be able to survive on her own. Maggie is too afraid to experience the reality of life for what it really is. Maggie receives the love and the support from her mother which is scary because her mother stands between Maggie having a normal life and doing things people her age are supposed to be doing.
