Every secret comes with consequences. Secrets will always come out of one end or another. The book Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard and based in Rosewood, a suburb in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This book teaches us that sometimes secrets aren’t the best and they can come back and haunt you. Four girls: Aria, Emily, Hanna, and Spencer are bounded together by their 8th grade friendship, and are now in high school, being stalked and threatened. By the end of the story, the four girls find out that they all are getting texts but don’t learn anything yet. The girls were getting texts from “A” and out of all of them Hanna got it the worst emotionally. The death of their friend Alison from 8th grade brought them back together. One of the four girls, Hanna, is probably the most outgoing out of all of them. At the beginning of the story I did not like her. She was rude, stole from stores, and only cared about herself. The four girls were all getting notes, email, and texts from “A” but they didn’t know what to do. Their secrecy didn’t help them and they didn’t even know who “A” was. They were all worried that their secrets would become public. They were all just reunited after being split up for almost three years. When they all were together for the first time it was at Alison’s funeral, their old friend from 8th grade who went missing. They had her funeral shortly after they found her body. “ ‘So, we meet again,” Aria said smiling.” This time it was different though. They weren’t together because of friendship, they were together by the texts, notes, and emails from “A”. They learned that secrets always come back, will always haunt you, and will never go away.
