The Native American culture has gone through many problems throughout the years, ever since their land has been devasthaly taken away from the europeans. Their community hasn’t quite as healthy as it use to be back in the days. Like for an Example a man named Victor finds some adversity through Native American life Although not experiencing growing up in the healthiest of environments, One of Victor’s adversity is his parents leaving him and not giving as much attention as a parent should have and which causes him to change once he gets older. Another of Victor's adversity is him experiencing employment and unemployment in the Native American community. Thirdly Victor getting into bad solutions and causing a not so go relationship.
Victor's family life is where many of his troubles begin. Sometimes people can’t hire because they already full with employees. Also very less will hire others and won’t pay as much, like for Victor in the Chapter ”All I Wanted To Do Was Dance” It says in this quote “ Sometimes Victor worked. He drove a garbage truck for the BIA; he cooked hamburgers at the Tribal Cafe. On payday , his wallet stuffed with money, he would stand in front of the beer cooler in the Trading Post” (Alexie 89). Basically Victor has money but has to work many jobs after one another just get get a decent amount to stay in good shape.
