The novel is taken place in a village called Treegap in the 1880s. In this book there were two main characters Winnie and Jesse. So, let's start off with Winnie. Winnie is a girl that started it all. But Jesse's mom catches him and viciously hits the man with the yellow suit with the backside of a rifle. The hit was so massive to the point that the man dies. In a result, constables figure out how to see the assault and capture Jesse's mom for slaughtering the man in the yellow suit. Winnie helps break the Tucks out of prison and has their spot in the jail cell. The Tucks choose to leave the region and invite Winnie to go along with them. Winnie is not sure whether to choose to drink from the spring and live forever or carry on a normal life. She chooses to remain mortal. The conflict was when Winnie had to choose to either drink from the spring and live forever or stay normal. This is an internal conflict because it is a hard decision for her that could make her live and not worry about aging or die and losing someone she loves. This is resolve by her not drinking from the spring and dying being mortal.
The theme of the book would have to be you don’t have to live forever, just live life to the fullest. I know this is the theme because Winnie decided not to drink from the spring. Another reason is in the novel the Tucks told Winnie to strongly think about her decision. An important symbol would be the spring of water that made the Tucks immortal. This is important because if this didn’t exist then they would have never met Winnie. This means that Jesse's mom wouldn’t have killed the man with the yellow
