Argumentative Essay On Abortion And Adoption

When Judy was twenty years old, she became pregnant. She was in between high school and college, enjoying her freedom as an adult. When she became pregnant, she tried to hide it from her parents and wore baggy clothes. She didn’t know what to do. Judy knew a woman who did abortions, and she knew some girls who had had an abortion done. When she picked up the phone and dialed the abortion clinic number, she hung up. Judy wasn’t able to do it. It didn’t feel right. She told Bob, the father, that she was pregnant. He told her that she should see a doctor, and they both decided to give the baby up for adoption with the Children’s Homes Society. The doctor said that she should tell her parents what was going on. At first, Judy’s parents weren’t happy, and they thought it was cruel to give the baby up for adoption. Everything worked out fine though. Judy gave birth to a healthy baby boy. He was adopted by Claudia and Loyal Johnson, and they named him Brent Charles Johnson. Nineteen years later, Judy and Brent met face-to-face for the first time.
