Personal Narrative About Life

Evening. The time when everypony gets smashed and tries to forget about life. Life. What a concept in this day and age. It isn’t hard to forget about life, mainly because we don’t really live one. Okay, I mean we do, it’s just not that great, though for me it is. Or so I’ve been telling myself for the past six years; being a town’s thief will make you feel that. Eyed the smoggy, grey sky being lit up by the sun. Yuck. We really did let our once beautiful world go to hell. It’s a bummer, really. I liked the world we once had: Breezies, pet races, winter wrap-ups, being with my friends who I barely talk to anymore. But I actually prefer this life over the one I had. Even over the Wonderbolts. Probably hard to believe. Gosh I probably sound stupid. Of course it would! I’m Rainbow Dash for crying out loud, there’s no way I’d rather be a pesky, lowlife thief rather than be a Wonderbolt, something I’ve always dreamed of being as a filly. Pfft. No way. It’s true. You have my word. Being a thief is one of the best things ever.

I gaze at the passed out pony who was holding a half-empty liquor bottle and drooling on her bed. Too bad. I actually liked this one. Lyra was her name, I think. Her loss, my gain. I drifted from my lean and slinked my way around the bedroom, rummaging through drawers for anything of value. I found a pair of silver scissors and an gold-plated envelop opener. Yay. Such great loot. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about being a thief over the years, it’s never let lame loot put you down; you’re gonna find something good sooner or later and, when you do, it’s like the best feeling ever. My key life lessons are that nothing beats hard work and if you treat others with respect, they will generally treat you with respect. Hard work and effort are the main aspects that lead to “lucky” things happening. Good things don’t just fall into people’s laps, the ones that have the most “luck” generally are those that put in the most effort and work. Also, I have learned that when you truly respect those around, they will respect you back and life is much easier when you aren’t doing things behind each other’s backs.…

I am someone who smiles Someone always telling jokes to make sure no one thinks something is wrong So no one suspects a thing when they see my smile I am someone who fixes the feelings of those whose hearts are shattering like pieces of glass I am someone who loves to dress up and wear makeup so no one sees how truly I am From the bags from staying up at night to the red from crying, both under the concealer Tears behind my eyeshadow-covered eyelids Cracks underneath my red lipstick And the pain within the mouth that contains whitened teeth…

The conception of my child happened one night after a date night with my husband. We had been so busy with our jobs lately that we were hardly ever getting any time so spend with each other. I was fifteen years old when I suffered one of the worst things a child can suffer through, I lost my father. The day was November 20, 2013, back when I lived in Brookhaven, Mississippi. I had lived there for almost 4 years, having moved from California, living there because my dad was born in Mississippi and was able to get onto Mississippi Disability. He was involved in a car accident in 2004 that basically immobilized his left leg and made him incapable of working enough to raise three boys. He had a heart attack and passed away shortly thereafter.…
