Eve White Character Analysis Essay

During 1951, a what seemed to be a normal housewife and mother, Eve White, had been experiencing unusual spells. Her husband Mr. White takes his wife to have an appointment with Doctor Luther for incidents of having blackouts, amnesia, and severe headaches. At some point in one of the first blackouts Eve White experiences she buys expense clothes and tries to hurt her own daughter, not remembering either occurrence. Her husband also recalls that she went to Atlanta for some days visiting family and called to tell him she was not coming back, while Mrs. White claims she has not been there in over a year. Mr. White is aggravated and unaware of the situations his wife is going through. Doctor Luther and Eve White begin therapy sessions and he soon meets Eve Black. Mrs. White claims to hear a woman voice that tells her to run away with her only child, leaving her husband behind. Eve Black also confesses that she is having black out spells and she does not get out as often as she use to. Eve Black additionally ironically believes they will “die." While Eve White is under hypnosis, the third and final personality is revealed. She calls herself “Jane,” she does not know who she is nor has any memories except being under her house as a small child. At six years of age, Jane remembers being forced to give her dead grandmother a kiss goodbye. On September 7, 1953, Eve White and Eve Black died from the body, leaving Jane as the dominant of the body regaining all of her memories. She then comes together with her daughter Bonnie and maries a man named Earl.
