INNOVATE: Evanna was introduced into the Harry Potter franchise when she was about 8 years old because her mother wanted her to start reading. At first, she was sceptical about the series and when she started reading, she was hooked. Around the time Evanna was 11, she was diagnosed with anorexia, which is an emotional disorder characterized by an obsessive desire to lose weight by refusing to eat. J.K Rowling wrote to Evanna when she was in the hospital and said anorexia was “destructive, not creative.” When Evanna read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, she liked the new character that was introduced, Luna Lovegood (Gale Biography in Context, January 11, 2006). She heard that Warner Bros. was filming the movie of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, she wrote to them asking that she wanted to have an opportunity to have a chance to audition for the role of Luna Lovegood.
