In his short story, “On the sidewalk bleeding” Evan Hunter, describes a story of a 16 year old gang member who gets stabbed by a royal gang member. But while dying in an alley Andy struggles to take off his royal jacket so, once he does he’s laying there dying then once he dies he’s not known as “Andy.” Hunter tells Andy’s story to show that when you do things bad in your life you have to face the consequences in the end.
Hunter describes the values of consequences and that you have to face them when you do something bad, so like Andy is laying on the sidewalk bleeding and he tries to yell for help but he can’t speak and he can’t move. While Andy is still trying to get help a couple people see him lying on the ground the first guy was a drunk guy who assumed Andy was drunk laying on the floor so he didn’t bother to help, The next people who stopped and saw Andy was a young couple and Andy was moving which made him moan in pain and they heard him so they went to go look and saw Andy, They noticed he was a Royal so they didn’t …show more content…
The example that’s in the story which explains the second reason for the thesis statement is he’s laying there in the rain while blood is still coming out of him. Soon enough Andy sees an old lady and tries to get her attention but she can’t hear him because the rain, and the sound of the trash cans hitting against each other, plus she’s kind of deaf which made it harder to get her attention. Andy laid there in the rain feeling weak, and very tired and thinking why all the bad stuff happens to him but in reality he’s facing his consequences for every bad thing he’s done. This shows that with every bad thing that you do in the end you have to face the consequences coming at you, the choices you make while always have something bad coming at
