As a student I always connected more with the teacher than with my fellow students which labeled me as a teacher’s pet, but I saw someone that was like minded to myself. Their ability to help people and to make an impact stuck with me through the years. That combined with my love for children and my need to make an impact has pushed me to teach. The experience to shadow a teacher just solidified my want to be a teacher. I found it interesting and I didn’t spend the time bored. Instead I watched how the teacher interacted with the students and how she taught lessons. I made valuable observations that will help me when I have my own classroom. For many the pre-teaching experience is an experience that deters them from teaching or that they only complete as a requirement. I found that even though I was required to do it it was not a chore.
