Before identifying the organization, will first define performance improvement. According to the National Public Health Performance Standards, the performance improvement is shown through positive change in capacity, process and outcomes of public health as practiced in government, private, and voluntary sector organizations (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2016). Furthermore, performance improvement can occur system-wide as well as within individual organizations that are a part of the public health system (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2016). TriStar Southern began to help the community since October 15, 1979, as has grown considerably over the thirty-six years of its establishment (TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, 2014). This is evident as the hospital has grown to one hundred twenty-six beds and currently serves three counties, including Davidson, Rutherford and Williamson counties in the state of Tennessee (TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, 2014). Furthermore, the TriStar Southern Hills medical staff currently has over three hundred members representing more than twenty specialties; all are board certified or board eligible (TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, 2014). The certain specialties include cardiology, vascular, oncology, orthopaedic and neurology/neurosurgery services (TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, 2014). Additionally, TriStar Southern Hill’s mission is to deliver to our patients the highest quality patient care, compassion, and respect (TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, 2014).
