The movie, “The Outsiders” directed by Francis Ford Coppola and written by S.E. Hilton and Kathleen Rowell, produced in the year 1983 was moderately entertaining. “The Outsiders” is about a group of boys who live in Oklahoma, but when Johnny, a Greaser, kills Bob, a Soc, things started to get out of hand for the boys. “The Outsiders” had a lot of scenes where the actors may have had a hard time acting, like Dally’s death. They did an excellent job at letting you know which boy was who in the group. Like Dally for example, I could tell that he was more of the troublemaker and hard hearted of the group. Like when someone threatened that they’d call the cops on him, he didn’t care. Johnny, who was the opposite of Dally, was obviously more fragile seeming than the rest. His body language was always more unconfident than the rest, like the way he talked and reacted to situations. …show more content…
At some scenes you will see both groups standing by each other like during the rumble or when they get jumped. Who ever is in charge of the costumes did a good job at comparing the Socs clothes and the Greasers. The Socs had lighter colors and collars, the Greasers were shown with darker colors like black and grey. When they fought in the rumble or in general the film became more choppy. Like they were trying to put too much in a limited time. After reading The Outsiders book, the movie felt like it was missing a lot of important details. During the book they would tell you all of the characters’ backgrounds, like Sodapop’s horse Mickey Mouse or his girlfriend Sandy. When writing literature you have to write in detail that when watching it your brain could just pick it up in a few seconds. This makes the book longer, but it also had more scenes.
