I believe that teaching involves many factors that work together to make effective teachers. This involves effective planning, differentiation of instruction, implementation of differentiated strategies and interventions, and professional developments. When evaluating professional dispositions, it is important to understand what that entails. Professional dispositions are one’s beliefs, value system, attitudes and actions in and out of the classroom. It is how teachers interact with students, families, colleagues and the community, positive behaviors support student learning and development (Colley, 2017). As a leader I hope to maintain a positive role model for, not simply my students, but for my coworkers as well. I hope to demonstrate positive work habits, interpersonal skills, showing I am dependable, honest and respectful. I also, know how important it is to have family and community involvement in order to facilitate student success, and the importance of access to learning opportunities such as tutoring and computer use. Understanding the diversity that is in our classrooms, differentiating our instruction to meet the needs of our diverse students and facilitating community involvement are all key factors in student’s success.
