Values: this is what l consider as standards that give directions to my life and meanings. According to Masters (2014), values are principles and ideals that give meanings and direction to our social, personal, and professional lives. (Masters, 2014, p. 96). The values of nursing have been justice, integrity, autonomy, benevolence, all of which have been incorporated in they care we as nurses provide to the public. As l go to work each day, l am constantly reminded and re-evaluating my values that are important to me and not enforce them on the patients that l provided care for.
