Aggressiveness is a behavioral trait where a person is unreasonably hostile towards others, often in an attempt to dominate and intimate those around them. The Buss-Petty Aggression Scale breaks up aggression into four categories: physical aggression, verbal aggression, anger, and hostility. While the conceptual definition did not specify different types of aggression, it did highlight hostility and allowed for intimidating or hostile ‘actions’ in a general sense. The conceptual definition further highlighted aggression as feelings and actions that arise due to or in interaction with other people. I admit that throughout my life I have often failed to implement positive boundary laws and principles as outlined by Dr. Cloud and Dr. Townsend. The most distinct violation and subsequent consequences can be observed by my violation of Law #4: the Law of Power. This boundary law states, firstly, that you have the power to do some things that will bring the fruits of victory within your own boundaries, and yet conversely that you do not have the power to change others outside of your boundaries. Throughout my boundary project journey, I will be focusing on how I can stand up for myself and express my needs to others without feeling guilty or be afraid of losing love. I want to be able to work on my boundary issue of compliance by using the word, “no” whenever it is needed, rather than always giving in. An example of someone engaged in other-regarding harm, which happens a lot in a workplace, is when someone who is being ethically-poor "jerk", by causing troubles to other coworkers, such as swearing, yelling at people, sending inappropriate emails, etc. Sometimes these types of people can be customers, clients, and worst of all they can be the boss/owner. In this case, I would agree with Millsian's view, that people must be avoided or stopped, if they engage in other-regarding harm. And when you break, it will be hard to come back from that. Even if you can tell yourself you did the right thing, sticking to what you believe in without bending, you still broke, and there is damage. Having done the right thing is questionable at that point, because you have caused harm by refusing to compromise, it doesn't matter whether that harm is to you, another person, or both. However, by looking at your personal moral or ethical code as more of a guideline, you allow yourself to use gray areas and take things on more of a case-by-case basis, doing what is right in each instance, rather than having that blanket decision already made for you.
