The purpose of the paper is to discuss on the effectiveness of interest groups on a selected criminal justice policy. Interest groups are organized groups that try to influence the government to adopt certain policies or measures to help the citizens/public. These groups can be a benefit to help get laws enacted and enforced. The interest group selected for this discussion is MADD-Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the crime of driving drunk. Below there are three articles found that are relevant to this topic and shows the benefit of such interest groups. The first article discusses the background of MADD.
