First and foremost community policing have continually sought after positive approaches to connect with youths within communities for a number of years. One method used is curriculum based programs that track and promotes positive behavioral practices for at risk youth. These types of programs guide officers and other community personnel in different approaches to take when interacting with troubled or at risk youth that are at risk for delinquency. They also serve as interventions adolescents that help to change their behavior in ways that diminish their delinquency and develop their odds to thrive as productive citizens as they mature.
