Eva explained, “Even your friends could turn against you. I felt degraded. We were outside the law. Anyone could do with us as they wanted.” (Menszer, “The Holocaust Survivors”). Eva would lash out at her siblings. She had a very hard time accepting all the hardships of the Holocaust. And how it was affecting her and her family.
Whereas, Anne would get into little arguments with the residents of the annex but nothing serious. Eva went through many hardships in the Holocaust. She was in on her way to a concentration camp when she escaped by jumping out of a train. Eva had to pretend she was a catholic and live in fear of the Nazis finding her after she escaped. Anne mainly hid for most of the Holocaust. Anne did not have to experience nearly as much fear and death as Eva did. They are both amazing stories of survival during the Holocaust.
Eva and Anne had to endure many hardships during the holocaust. Their stories display how people can cope and get through extremely hard times in their lives. They show how hard the Holocaust was on everyone, and how it affected people. The Holocaust was a terrifying ordeal which should have been avoided. Eva and Anne show that no matter who you are you can get through in the toughest times in life. They are truly amazing and inspiring people.
