FOCUS OF PRESENT SESSION: The youth presented in a euthymic mood, and it was congruent with her affect. During this session the youth and therapist focused on safe dating and sexual education. Denae shared that she is currently dating, but is undecided as to whether or not she is ready to be in a monogamous relationship. The client reported that her unsteady relationship with her father and her need for attention may have resulted in her obtaining healthy relationships. The client was asked to verbalize positive attributes of how she viewed herself, she identified herself as being “funny” and “loving.” Denae further related that she is trying to repair her self-image and feel she has made some progress.
