Imagine being surrounded by your family and planning out your funeral day? Well as this is a controversial topic, I believe that Euthanasia should be legalized because of many reasons. The definition of Euthanasia is painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma. The practice is illegal in most countries.the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma. Euthanasia is a big topic to talk about, not many people would talk about this topic because of the fact that it 's a big deal. Many people have been living off of machine there whole life and know that 's how it 's going to be for the rest of their life and their loved ones watch them suffer every single day. There are many reason why it should be legalized, because of the fact that people have the rights to choose if they want to die or not. Many people say that they want to live a peaceful death, but not many actually do die off a peaceful death. So people should have the right to end their life and not suffer and actually live the peaceful death they wanted. According to articles "Over 90% of people with terminal illness will endure their situation, but between 5-10% find it intolerable and request euthanasia.. A minority of those with a hopeless illness also suffer intractable symptoms and request euthanasia.”(South Australia Voluntary) The cost of medical bills is also a big deal because many families can 't afford it. According to this article “Over 45 million Americans (15% of the population) don’t have health insurance. Nearly half of people without medical insurance currently have outstanding medical debts, averaging $9,000 per …show more content…
I understand that there 's many people who would want this to be legalized because of the fact that there hating their lives and just want to end it like that. But no euthanasia should be legalized for one reason only and that reason is the people that actually need it. Such as the people that live off of machines and that’s how they 're going to live for the rest of their life. Also when a doctor tells a patient that they have a certain amount of day/months to live. But the people that actually need it are the people that are suffering with severe illnesses such as cancer and many more. People don’t want this legalized because they think people would cheat the system. But no there 's many ways to stop that. Such as being very strict with the law and actually do test to make sure they 're not faking a illness. If people are caught trying to cheat the system there 's always penalties for those

Terminally ill patients are suffering every day due to the treatments they have to go through or the pain from the illness. Because of the harsh treatments that some people have to go through, they might decide to end their suffering and choose to reject the treatment. I do not believe anyone has a death wish, but the majority of people do not want to suffer for the rest of their life. People want to die at home or with loved ones as their illness begins to get out of control. I…

The main argument about physician aid in dying and Euthanasia is whether or not it is ethical and whether or not it should be legal everywhere. However, the decision is the patient’s to make. The controversial topic of Physician Assisted Suicide is well known in the United States, and many people have found conflict in this practice because it breaks some religious values. The legalization of this practice, however is slowly progressing all over the world.…

Globally, Euthanasia and/or Physician assisted suicide is legal in about 29% of countries (ProCon.org) and most people don’t even know the difference between the two. Physician assisted suicide is where the doctor gives their patient the means to die given the circumstances (they have no direct hand in their patients suicide), whereas euthanasia is the direct application of a means of suicide by the doctors themselves (American Nurses Association). Laws legalizing assisted suicide have been passed around like a hot potato and rejected almost every time. Even in places it is legalized, assisted suicide is an unthinkable course of action, regardless of a patient's situation or suffering. Others feel they should be able to choose whether and when…

People have the right to make "important decisions about their lives for themselves according to their own values or conceptions of a good life, and in being left free to act on these decisions" (Brock 227). This allows people to take responsibility over their own lives as long as the person can make decisions. “For many patients near death, maintaining the quality of one’s life, avoiding great suffering, maintaining one’s dignity, and insuring that others remember us as we wish them to become of paramount importance and outweigh merely extending one’s life” (Brock 227. Life is about quality rather than quantity. Euthanasia is highly subjective; therefore, if it was legalized, then the law should not be very specific about the type of situation that euthanasia is permitted for a patient.…

Would you rather see someone you love, a significant other, relative, or friend suffer in pain until they pass? Or would you rather help them go at peace surrounded by family in a comfortable setting and know that they are at ease? The answer is obvious. There are so many families of patients with a terminal illness and they have to witness them go through months, possibly years of suffering. So why is it up to the government and the state to make these decisions for patients?…

Thinking about the future is something that is inevitable for humans, we always want the best in our lives and always want the best for our loved ones. Sometimes one might look as far as death, yes that does seem very depressing, but we think to that point because we worry abou the pain that might come then. Most people do not want to endure that pain and I have heard many people in my life time say “I just want it to be quick and painless” when speaking about their death. Again this is a dark subject, but the problem is that it is reality and it is in our DNA that we do not want to suffer and experience pain. This brings up the question of: Is it human to end a human's life?…

Death is universal and everyone will face it. We don’t like to think about it, but we often do. Each individual hopes that they will die a painless and peaceful death in their sleep. However, this is not true for many unfortunate people. Certain diseases, such as aids, Alzheimer’s, cancer, and incurable tumors, as well as accidents that cause brain death or paralysis, often leaves us with unbearable physical pain or depression to the point that many would rather die than live a life of such agony.…

A hot topic for American’s today is whether or not assisted suicide, also know as “Death with Dignity Act” or assisted death, should be legalized in the United States. There are three sides to this argument. The first side is people, like me, who base their decision on religion and think that no one should decide when they should die; only the good Lord has that authority. The second side is people, like everyone in my group, that think that when someone is suffering, no matter what, they should decide for themselves when they want to die. The third, and final, side is people who are neutral and have no opinion.…

When people are living in these conditions, we should strive to make their end as peaceful and easy as we can, rather than enhancing and prolong their misery any longer than it has to be. We have a duty to ensure that our loved ones are not suffering when it is their time to go. The legalisation of euthanasia would give us the opportunity to provide those in need to end their lives free from both physical and emotional…

Euthanasia to be a controversial problem because there seem to be no grey area, no concrete right or wrong and continues to be a highly debatable topic. I believe the Death with Dignity laws is effective in the states that have it and should be become a law in all states. Death with Dignity laws enables and insure the rights of terminally ill patients to hasten their death. I also believe the law is effective because it gives terminally ill patients a choice. Perhaps many of these patients do not want to burden family members with their declining health, suffering and agony.…
