In Vatican City, Pope Francis recently denounced euthanasia arguing that “it is playing with life” (Pope Denounces Euthanasia), but Christians still have surgery with anesthesia to eliminate the pain of the operation. Is that not just as much interference with God’s time? There are however some religions, such as Jehovah’s Witness’, that do refuse some medical procedures such as blood transfusions, but nothing more. One of the biggest arguments may be about the value of life. In Ancient Greece and Rome, when the idea of euthanasia first emerged they did not really have a defined value of human life (Euthanasia Pro-Con). For some their value of life may be to live as long as they possibly could not concerned with the quality. However, quality of life is very important.
