One is suffering from an incurable disease, there is nothing one’s family can do to help him or her. There is nothing the doctors can do to save one’s life in the end. One sits there in pain every day of his or her life. Right now, in most parts of the United States and around the world, people do not have a choice to end their pain and suffering with a doctor 's help. Euthanasia comes from the two Greek words “eu” and “thanatos”. The words “eu” and “thanatos” means good death. The main reason that people consider euthanasia is the fact that these people are just sitting there knowing that they are going to die. They are in pain every minute of each day for the rest of their life. Last year there was an American woman who lived in California. At this time euthanasia was legal in Oregon, she and her family packed up their things and moved to Oregon to put her out of her suffering. On November 1, 2014, her and her family made a decision that ending her life would help her relieve her of all her suffering. After she did this the world started to look at euthanasia and this is why it has become a more discussed topic in the United

You live with a constantly growing sense of indignity, misery and helplessness. This was the life of Tony Nicklinson who, after being diagnosed with “locked-in syndrome” was denied the ability to pass away peacefully through euthanasia and was forced, as he described it, to remain in a “living nightmare”. Due to his condition, tony was left in a permanent vegetative state with no hope of recovery. There are two types of euthanasia, the first of which is active euthanasia. This is the process in which a person gives their consent to end their life. Medical professionals attending to their patients would provide the patient with either a lethal dose of medicine or a prescription for a lethal amount to do in their own time.…

If death is destined due to sickness, then the patient should be able to decide whether they want a peaceful death or a painful death. Patients who are suffering from an incurable disease, or any kind of disability do not deserve to suffer and legalizing euthanasia can help cure their suffering since not many want to live after a period of time when the patient and the doctor knows that it is too late and nothing further can be done to improve the patient’s condition, or relieve their pain. She could not end her life on her own terms, so instead she suffered: a crippling stroke; massive blood loss after an angiogram; dialysis; constant hospitalization; and mistreatment by staff. Month after month, she sank further into despair (Hayes).
