It is shown that Catholic’s, Islamic’s and Buddhist’s believe that Euthanasia is unjust. Buddhism emphasises on not killing living beings as it is the first of the five precepts. Although Euthanasia is considered wrong in the Buddhist religion, the practice is not frowned upon, similarly to Catholicism. The Dalai Lama stated “that all life is precious and so it is better to avoid euthanasia.” He also stated that “there are exceptional cases and so each case should be judged on an individual basis.” It is also believed by some Buddhists that “encouraging a sick person to relax their grip on life or to give up the will to live would not count as an act of compassion.” Due to Buddhist’s believing in reincarnation it is also suggested that if Euthanasia was to occur it should be of “wisdom” and if it is not then that individual make not have a good life in their next life. Similar to Buddhism and Catholicism, Muslims are against Euthanasia. They believe that human lives are sacred because the life was given by Allah and that Allah chooses when an individual’s life will end. From this research it is clear that religiously Euthanasia is not accepted and it is usually upon the person who decides they do not want to suffer
