Euthanasia is a broad topic. This topic has two side of the story that has very valuable points on each side of the story. Euthanasia is internationally well known as ending of life in order to relieve pain and suffering. Assisted suicide is a medical treatment in the Netherlands, Belgium and Oregon. Their advocates erroneously portray both practices as personal and private acts. However, legalization is not about the private and the personal. It is about public policy, and it affects ethics, medicine, law, families and children. Should we human have the right to decide for the destiny of our lives? Euthanasia should be an option for terminally ill patients.
Euthanasia is intentionally killing a person who is suffering from incurable conditions or diseases to end their suffering. In my opinion, life should be a matter of choice, I think people should have the power to control what happened to their bodies, and that they should not be forced to suffer through intractable pain until their body finally dies. Some terminally ill patients are in terrible pain and have a very poor quality of life, and they would rather end it as opposed to living life in a way that they would not enjoy.
Euthanasia means “good death” but the controversy surrounding it is just the opposite. In active euthanasia the immediate cause of death is not the patient’s disease but something that is done to the patient to cause his or her death.
