I also engaged in conversations with doctors. We talked about the daily challenges doctors face and their opinions on the future of medicine. The integrity of medicine and medical ethics was particularly interesting. I was intrigued by the current position regarding euthanasia in the UK; I did further research on the dichotomy of the right to die and the right to refuse treatment. I attended a medicine workshop at Queen Mary University and networked with medical students, discussing their long term goals. I also enjoyed participating in the practical activities such as the CPR and reflex ascertaining workshops. The main principle I understood, was that regardless of the circumstances of a situation, communication and understanding between patient and doctor is a significant element in the entire process of treatment.
I tutor local children with their studies, providing general guidance on higher education. This commitment allows me to empathise with multiple situations that children may face, gaining their trust, understanding the context from their perspective and assisting them in reaching their goals. These attributes are transferable to a doctor-patient scenario. Outside of school, my hobbies include swimming and keeping fit. Achieving a lifeguard qualification helped develop my stamina and motivation to achieve an end goal. I regularly box, this has taught me discipline and
