Everyday, more patients are asking for the legalization of Euthanasia, this is a very controversial topic which has been discussed for many years. Many countries such as Switzerland or Spain have legalized this assisted method of death recently, even though this topic has been studied by different perspectives, such as religious and political, assisted death hasn’t passed through legalization in Colombia. These two organism are mainly against Euthanasia, but its toughest barrier is called catholicism. Colombia is the sixth country with more catholic people in the world, and church still has an important voice at the government. The catholic church is one of the principal defendors of human’s life, and it says that the only one who can determine when life ends is the one who gave it to us, infering to God. It sounds pretty reasonable, but the only one who can understand the meaning of life is every person, and at the time of judging the legalization of euthanasia it is essential to study the humanistic part of it, and to be honest determining that everyone wants its death to be the less painful and traumatic.
Throughout history the decision about the legalization of euthanasia has been done towards the thoughts or beliefs of different perspectives; such as political, social, religious, cultural etc.. but what really should matter is the will of the patient. Everyone should have the power to take decisions about their own lifes, if the pain is unberable it is not worth to prolong an agony, we are owners of our own lifes, so we should also have the right to control it, and part of that control is being able to decide when we want to give an end to
