Euthanasia is the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering.Each country has their own laws regarding Euthanasia. In the U.S. it’s illegal but, assisted suicide is legal in the states of Washington, Oregon, California, and Vermont. Everyone has their stance on this issue either for or against Euthanasia, and if it should be legal or not.In our paper we’ll be discussing our stance on the issue, and the research that we’ve acquired on this topic.We are for Euthanasia, and we believe patients should be able to request assisted suicide.
To better understand Euthanasia,it’s important to know the different types of Euthanasia. Voluntary Euthanasia is performed with the patient 's consent, such as a patient signing a DNR (do not resuscitate). This is a legal order or form given to the hospital that gives them permission to withhold from CPR or life support in respect of the patient’s wishes. Non-Voluntary Euthanasia is when the patient is unable to give their informed consent.Involuntary is when the patient who dies chooses life but is killed anyway(Murder). Active Euthanasia is Performing an action such as administering a lethal. Passive Euthanasia injection is going to include Active Euthanasia as well.
A court case that has dealt with the issue of euthanasia/assisted suicide is Washington V. Glucksberg. A doctor named Harold Glucksberg argued that banning aid to help a person commit suicide is unconstitutional. Dr. Glucksberg said it…
