The debate over Euthanasia is likely to persist sharp and violent because of negativism from sacred beliefs and other medical profession. “Assisted suicide is when someone provides an individual with the information, guidance and means to take his or her own life with the intention that they be used for this purpose. Physician-assisted suicide is when a doctor is the one who assists, such as by prescribing a lethal dose of medication. The only difference between assisted suicide and other forms of euthanasia is which person performs the final act that kills the patient. If a doctor performs the final act (e.g., an injection), it is euthanasia; if the patient performs the final act himself (e.g., ingesting pills), it is assisted suicide” (MCCFL). Euthanasia is generally misled in correlation to assisted physician suicide in which a person wants to end their suffering because of unbearable pain that they are experiencing, but unable to function on doing so and no more hopes besides dying peacefully. However, there are some individuals who believe and anticipate that Euthanasia should not be acknowledge and legalize because they see it as ruthless, and inhumane. “A patient’s request for euthanasia entails a complex process that demands emotional work by all participants. It is characterized by an intensive period of sharing information, relationship building and negotiation in order to reach agreement. We hypothesize that making decisions about euthanasia demands a proactive approach towards participants’ preferences and values regarding end of life, towards the needs of relatives, towards the burden placed on physicians and a careful attention to shared decision-making” (Dees Marianne). The idea of this method is not to favor everyone and grant their wish on ending their life, but this process will be made based on the information they gathered from the family, and seeking another consultation and opinion from other physician about the illness.
