Why I Chose Columbus Essay

For an important job, the Spanish Monarchy hired the Italian explorer Christopher Columbus. The Spanish Monarchy was interested in sailing westward in the Atlantic in search of a water passage that would be a shorter route to Asia from Europe and also in search of gold. Why would The Spanish Monarchy hire an Italian explorer to do such an important job for Spain? With the Italians and Spanish working together on such an important job to both countries, they could further improve their friendship and willingness to work together on more jobs. Doing this would not only help the Spanish Monarchy and Italy, but it would help other countries around them.
