Thesis: Africa had lots of natural resources that would benefit Europe and help Europe achieve financial stability, this lead to the imperialization period in Europe which was justified by racial prejudice and inequality by explorers. This source is credible because of its reliable accuracy due to modern day technology. This source is important to the thesis because it shows how European influence eventually took over Africa. Africa was plentiful in natural resources which caused it to become a target as well as the desire for cheap labor. Africa had lots of precious minerals, gold and oil as well as inferior population that could be used for cheap labor. In the late 19th centuries the continued effects of imperialism in Africa continued to show as gaps like in technology. European technology in weaponry allowed that to have a high powered military. This changed wars like the Crimean War and The Napoleonic Wars. The Crimean War was particularly important because it was used as a testing ground for the new technological advancements in the colonization of Africa. Imperialism also provoked the conflict between imperial powers. As colonization from European powers proceeded and inter European power struggles provoked competition within Europe the major fronts (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Britain) were looking for ways to show control and one way to do so was the colonization of Africa. Surplus of population from these nations also resulted in sending the excess population into small colonization in Africa eventually the Europeans override certain parts of Africa and as the conquest of power from each individual power house of Europe continued they began to colonize parts of Africa. Another effect from Western Imperialism was Christianity.
