The dark ages were dark only for Europeans because trade and other things started to decline.For instance,London and paris were malodorous firetraps without any wastes.However, other countries that were not in Europe continental found this was the period of new insight. A good example is China.After the fall of the Han dynasty,the country was controlled by local lords, who can take care of the peasants better than the state.Another example is in the Islamic world,the muslims under the rule of a single caliph.This rule led to more poets, scientists and philosophers.
