Eunice Riggins Memorial Scholarship Essay

I am applying for The Eunice Riggins Memorial Scholarship, because I believe that it will provide me the funds I need to attend college. This scholarship is exactly what I need to help push me towards my next goal; becoming a college graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Sleep Studies. My largest passion is the human brain because it controls the entire body and our world. Without the brain our world would be dull and simplistic because no one would have the ability to make their own decisions. I believe that something that should be admired and further explored. Next year when I attend college I want to be involved in the band. Music has been a large part of my life ever since the sixth grade. It has been something that has challenged me and it has also motivated me to try harder. Band has taught me that even if everyone else goes music will always stay. Even though I lost a teacher every two years I have been taught lessons that will always be with me. I also want to join either the women’s cross country team or the women’s soccer team because these sports inspire me. I want to be a surgeon because I am determined to change lives on the inside so that they will be enjoyed on the outside. There is even a possibility that I will find the cure to a serious brain defect and be able to prevent others from having to experience it. Honestly, medicine is about life and mystery, and they are two of my most favorite things. Mystery is good because it challenges the brain to look beyond the obvious. Life is about adventure and love, the two things that can start a war or create peace.
