Eulogy To My Father Analysis

This is a tribute is to my uncle Dominic who died April 20th, 2012. My uncle was 43 years old before he passed away, he was auto mechanic at the time. Cars were his passion, he loved all kinds of cars, but there was one car he always in mind. This was his dream car and he always told me how one day he would save up enough to buy it. Sadly, he never got to save up enough money to afford it, his family were going through financial struggles and he always put his family before anything else. My uncle was a great man who would always have a smile on his face and he was loved by everyone around him. My uncle was also very wise and he taught me things no teacher, coach, or mentor ever could.

Uncle Dominic had gotten me through the toughest times in my life. Two years before he died everything that could go wrong did in my life and it seemed that it would never get better, I had been the saddest I have ever been in my life, but when I had almost lost all hope my uncle came to visit. It felt like he was the only one who understood me and somehow all of my troubles disappeared. We talked for hours on end, by the end of it I became happiest than I have ever been in my life, uncle Dominic just had that kind of personality. As we talked he also taught me many things about life, things that I would never had learned in school. He taught me to be humble, to appreciate what I had, and how to live life to the fullest.

He impacted my life in a big way and I am not sure where I would be or who I would be without him. He changed the lives of everyone around him with his upbeat personality and he put others needs before his. Although he couldn’t experience his life to the fullest he made sure I could and I am eternally grateful for that. Uncle Dominic, I love you, and may you be spreading your joy in the next

Tears of joy streaming down my aunt's face, being squeezed by relatives for group pictures, tropical heat causing sweat to form in the small of my back; Regardless of how uncomfortable it is to step out of my comfort zone, my family's annual trips to Cuba are something I've always looked forward to. In the year of 1999, I was born in Cabaiguán, Cuba. If it had been up to my mother, I would have been born in the United States. Immigration laws required us to stay for at least six months after my birth before coming to America. Despite us moving to the United States, my parents always made sure I didn't forget where I came from.…

While in Brazil on a mission trip to volunteer in schools with Saint Vincent College, I worked closely with the children in the favelas and visited their homes to better understand how they lived. Every house contained multiple families and in a one room basement lived the most loving family who changed my life forever. The youngest child in the family was only seven years old and he had more surgeries than years on earth. During his time he had lost his legs and right arm but never his spirit or smile. I had never seen so much strength in a person and the way his mother talked about his medical care and how much it did for them as a family struck me.…
