I spoke with Sally Glossop today and she advised me to keep Eti out of school untill after half term. She thought that it would cause far to much anxiety to come to school at a time like this. I must say that I do agree with her and so would anyone else that is working with Eti on a mental/ medical level.
I know you need your attendence numbers up and you need to keep ofsted happy but I must put Eti first.
As you know Eti is a very anxious boy but school is where most of his anxiesties stem from. I never have such big issues with Eti at home when he is not at school. He is usually calm, happy and not so anxious.
If Eti comes to school has a bad day then it will be impossible for me to take him to someone to look after so I can then go to the hospital to see my mum. His after school melt downs can last for several hours at times. …show more content…
My mum is in the Royal Free hospital in London. I am there from 1.30 - 8.30
By the time I collect Eti its 9.45pm. By the time he is home is bed its usually 10.45 or so.
When Eti goes to bed at this time there is no way he would cope with going to school. He is usually an emotional mess with late nights the following day. He usually has a set bed time and sleep routine ans is sleep no later than 8pm.
Once my mum moves to a normal ward which I hope will happen next week if all goes well. Then maybe Eti can come into school for the mornings. I could collect him at lunch time take him to who ever can take care of him and go to the hospital till 6 so I can then get back in time to bring him home and put him to bed at a reasonable time, so he is then able to come into school in the morning.
If you can think of a better plan then do let me know.
